Porqué un blog? / Why blog?

 La primera palabra que me viene a la mente es COMPARTIR y la segunda sería SONREIR. Hace casi un año intenté aprender a hacer ganchillo suscribiéndome  a “Ganchillo fácil”. Nunca vi a mis abuelas o a mi madre haciendo punto o crochet. Las manualidades se me dan fatal y cualquier niño de dos años dibuja mejor que yo. Así que las instrucciones me parecieron más bien física cuántica y me olvidé del ganchillo. Unos meses más tarde, cuando se me pasó la frustración lo intenté de nuevo, está vez buscando videos, patrones y blogs en internet y encontré un mundo lleno de paciencia, de colores, de gente a la que le hace feliz compartir lo que sabe, lo que va descubriendo, un mundo que va a otro ritmo, más lento, lleno de cosas hechas a mano y con cariño.

The first word that comes to my mind is SHARE and the second one is SMILE. Almost a year ago I tried to learn to crochet subscribing to a magazine. I never saw my grandmother or my mother knitting or crochet. I´m very bad with crafts and any two year old draws better than me. So I found the instructions harder than quantum physics and forgot about the hook. A few months later, when my frustration had worn of  I tried again, this time looking for videos, patterns, and blogs on the internet and found a world full of patience, colors, people who is happy sharing what they know, what they discover, a world that works at a different and slower pace, full of handmade things and warmth.

 No sólo he aprendido los puntos básicos, si no que también he sacado algunas recetas, he afinado el ojo para admirar las cosas sencillas y ahora tengo más de 20 blogs que reviso casi a diario en una carpeta que he llamado “Cute living”. Así que después de haber logrado terminar algunos amigurumis y un par de bolsos me dí cuenta que el proceso no terminaba cerrando el último punto sino que necesitaba compartirlo. Mostraré aquí pues las cositas que vaya terminando, las cositas que descubra, las cositas que me gusten, y seguramente habrá mucha Lupe (nuestra chihuahua, que es la cosita mas bella de la casa!), esperando sacar alguna sonrisa y si nos ponemos a soñar en grande, esperando motivar a alguien a que haga algo bueno y bonito y que haga sonreír a alguien más.

Not only have I learned the basics stitches, but also try out  some recipes,  tuned the eye to admire the simple things and now I have over 20 blogs I check almost daily in a folder named "Cute living". So after I managed to finish some amigurumis and a couple of bags I realized that the process did not finish when I fasten off but that I needed to share the results. So here I´ll show you the little things I crochet, the little things I discover, the little things I like and surely a whole lot of Lupe (our chihuahua that is the cutest little thing in the house!). Hoping to get a smile out of you, and, dreaming big, hoping to motivate some of you to do something good and nice that would make someone else smile.
