Desde que comencé con el ganchillo soy seguidora del blog All About Ami...como siempre estoy tejiendo más de 20 cosas a la vez (literalmente) nunca había logrado terminar un patrón de Stephanie.

Asi que estoy feliz con haber podido finalmente probar y TERMINAR uno de sus amigurumis (que son monisimos!). ¡Con ustedes la muñequita china! (patrón AQUI)

Hace poco en mi tienda de lanas favorita (Lanas Sixto, Calle atocha 9) encontré estos paquetitos de Katia, son mini ovillos 100% algodón recomendados para amigurumis. Hay cuatro packs deferentes con distintas paletas de colores...por supuesto que no pude resistir la tentación y compré unos para probar...asi que me lancé a hacer la muñequita con este hilo. ¡Y he quedado encantada!...se teje muy bien, es suave, no se abre y los amigurumis quedan pequeñitos y muy bien acabados!

Esta tejida con ganchillo de 2mm y como iba pillada de tiempo en los palitos del pelo le puse dos cuentitas en lugar de tejer las bolitas.

Since I started to crochet I'm  big fan of  All About Ami blog...but since I'm always crocheting more than 20 projects at a time I've never actually finished one of Stephanie's patterns.

So I'm very happy to have finished this cute little chinese doll (all of her patterns are sooo cute!) (Pattern HERE)

A few weeks ago I found in my favorite yarn shop (Lanas Sixto) this little packs of Katia's  cotton yarn recommended for amigurumis. They come in four different color palets and of course I couldn´t resist buying one. I used them for this project and I´m very happy with it. It´s soft, it doesn´t uncurl so is very easy to crochet with it and gives a very pretty finish.

I crocheted with a 2mm hook and instead of crocheting the tiny balls for the hair sticks I used a couple of plastic beads.

...desde hace mucho tiempo (al menos 3 años) tengo metidos un una bolsa las piezas de sus famosos "Spring Bunnies"...una de mis resoluciones de año nuevo será terminarlos...¡PRONTO!

¡Y llegamos ya al cuarto año de los bolardos!...esta vez con 112 bolardos!!!! (45 más que el año pasado!).

Esta vez fuimos unas 20 personas...cada año más bolardos, más gente, más ilusión :)

Al ver y escuchar la reacción de los vecinos nos dimos cuenta que muchos de ellos ya no se sorprenden como en años anteriores...empiezan a tomarlo como algo habitual que marca la llegada del frio y con un deje de orgullo se lo explican y muestran a las visitas...

Llevan ya más de 10 días y aún quedan unos cuantos enteros (y varios rotos)
Mil gracias a Heidy, Maria, Camino, Marta, Xurxo, Victoria, Aida, Rita, Vanessa, Raquel, Vicky, las Mari-Bichus, Sonia, Furby, Susana, Francis, Ali y Miguelito por tejer y por ilusionarse por esta acción absurda que nos hace sonreír y disfrutar juntos.

Four years in a row!!!...this time we make it to 112 bollards (45 more than last year).
More than 20 people knitted or crocheted...every year more people, more bollards, more smiles :)
As we listened to the passing by neighbors we realized they don´t seem that surprised any more. They are starting to get use to it...as something that happens as soon as it starts to get cold...they explain it and show it to visitors with a bit of pride...
It has been more than 10 days now and there are still about 50 left...

Chigüires felices /Happy Capybaras

Mi amiga Francis se casó hace un mes...cuando me contó que se casaba por supuesto que de inmediato me ofrecí a tejerle algo, lo que quisiera para su boda...
No tuvimos que pensar mucho...rápidamente nos decidimos por los muñequitos para la tarta...por alguna extraña razón los novios se llaman de cariño "chigüirito" (es el roedor viviente de mayor tamaño y peso del mundo. Habita en manadas en regiones de climas tropicales y templados siempre cerca del agua en humedales.)

Menos mal que Ravelry casi nunca me falla y al buscar un patrón de chigüire alli estaba. Es un poco complicado, no lo recomendaría para principiantes. Hay que hacerlo despacio, concentrado y con confianza pero el resultado es muy bueno, al menos yo he quedado muy contenta y con ganas de hacer más (supongo que Jara tendrá pronto alguno...jijijij). Últimamente utilizo para los amigurumis hilos delgados de algodón de Katia (Missisipi3, New Orleans o Cotton Stretch) con ganchillo de 2.25mm y me gusta mucho el acabado.

My friend Francis got married about a month ago. When she told that they were getting married I inmediatly offered myself to crochet something for the wedding.
We didn´t have to think much about it, the wedding caketoppers where the best choice. Their pet name is "chigüirito" (little capybara) so definitely this was the way to go!.
Luckily I always find what I´m looking for  in Ravelry, so I used THIS PATTERN. It´s a bit complicated, so I don´t recommend it for begginers but with patience and confidence you´ll get a very nice result...I ended up very happy with it! Iám sure I´ll be crocheting more of this cutties!.
I´ve been crocheting my amigurumis with Katia´s thin cotton yarns (Missisipi3, New Orleans and Cotton stretch) with a 2.25mm hook and I´m pretty happy with it!

Tuxedo Sam

De nuevo he probado con otro patrón de AmiguruMEI y de nuevo he quedado encantada.

De pequeña era fanática de Sanrio...y Tuxedo Sam era de mis personajes favoritos...asi que cuando vi este patrón no pude resistir la tentación...no le hice las alitas ni el sombrero...siempre cambiando los patrones...con las recetas soy igual...

Y bueno fue la excusa perfecta para probar un poco usando la cámara de Alvaro...poco a poco la voy entendiendo (después de añoooossss explicándome como funciona...que paciencia tiene el pobre...)

I´ve tried again another AmiguruMEI pattern and again I was pretty happy with the result.
When I was a little girl I was a huge Sanrio fan and Tuxedo Sam was one of my favorite characters...so when I came across this pattern of it I couldn´t resist crocheting it... I made a few changes, basically I didn´t crochet the wings and hat...I can never follow a pattern 100% (I do the same with cooking recipes).
After I crocheted it I decided to try taking pictures with Alvaro´s camera...little by little I´m starting to get the hang of it (after years of him trying to explain me how it works...he has sooo much patience...)

Yarn Bombing the Baby (I)

He forrado un montón de bolardos, árboles, fuentes, bancos, estatuas...pero la verdad no había tejido nada de ropa, así que estas 3 chaquetitas han sido mi primer intento. Lo bueno de las prendas de bebé es que las terminas bastante rápido...¿lo malo? que lo de las tallas y medidas es un misterio (por lo menos para mi). Estas tres chaquetitas las hice antes de que naciera Jara (y por lo tanto ni siquiera sabía si era niña o niño).

Para la primera seguí este patrón "Bombay Love" utilicé este algodón "Sugar´n cream" tan bonito que me habían regalado, la parte de abajo está hecha con hilo Alabama de Katia (ganchillo de 4mm). La verdad que de las tres esta es la que más me gustó...con las otras la cosa fue empeorando...

Para la segunda seguí una variación del mismo patrón que la anterior pero que tiene la apertura centrada en lugar de tenerla de lado (Patrón AQUI). Para esta utilicé Katia Austral y ganchillo 3.25 mm. Estaba entusiasmada y ya de paso le hice manoplas, patucos y gorro a juego...¡todo en miniatura!...es decir ninguno de los accesorios le sirvió...sólo la chaquetita la pudo usar un par de veces...

Y el tercero fue un completo desastre...me guié por este patrón  pero haciendo mi propia versión (¡error!) con unos algodones Katia (no recuerdo el nombre pero están descontinuados) y ganchillo 4mm. Una vez terminada la veía pequeñita...pero no me imaginé que tanto...no se la pude poner ni una sola vez....

¡lo usará para sus muñecas! / guess she´ll use it for her dolls! :P

Y ya para rematar mis malos cálculos con las tallas le hice este gorrito con el telar circular mas pequeño con la idea de hacerle unas fotos graciosas...nada...no le entró...pero por lo menos si nos reímos haciendo la foto...

¡mamá!¡cómo me haces esto! / mommy! what have you done! :P

Les juro que todo lo medí y comparé con ropita que había comprado y me parecía que hasta le iba a quedar grande...En fin...lo seguiré intentando...a pesar de estos desastres me gusta mucho vestirla (cuando lo logro) con cositas hechas por mi... Por lo menos con los patucos tuve un poco mas de suerte de tres pares pudo usar dos! (el patrón es este que ya he usado)

los tejí cuando supe que estaba embarazada / I crocheted this just when I found out I was pregnant :)

I've covered a lot of bollards, trees, fountains, benches, statues ... but I hadn´t crochet any clothes, so these 3 baby jackets were my first attempt.

The good thing about baby clothes is that you finish them pretty fast...the bad thing? sizes and measures are a mystery (at least to me).

I crocheted these 3 jackets before Jara was born (so I didn´t know if it was a boy or a girl) .

For the first one I followed this pattern "Bombay Love" and used "Sugar´n cream" yarn for the top and Katia Alabama for the bottom part (with a 4mm hook). This is the one I like best...with the other ones I wasn´t so lucky...

For the second I followed a variation of the same pattern (Pattern here) and used Katia Austral yarn and a 3.25mm hook. I was so excited that I made matching baby mittens, booties and hat...but they ended up being too tiny for my baby...she only were the jacket a couple of times...

And the third was a complete disaster...I did my own version of this pattern (big mistake!) and used a pretty thick cotton and a 4mm hook...but once again it was way too small...

I also made a chicken hat with the intention of making some cute pics...I used the small circular loom but....again too small!!!!! 

Anyway... I´ll keep trying...I love love love when I get it right and she gets to wear something I made specially for her! At least I was lucky with tha baby booties, I got right 2 out of 3 pairs.

Lobito / baby werewolf

Poco a poco voy perdiéndole el miedo a la máquina de coser. Esta vez me atreví con un muñeco para el cumple de mi sobri pequeño (¡¡2 añitos ya!!).

Vi ESTA FOTO en Pinterest y me encantó... Alvaro y yo sacamos nuestra propia adaptación con algunos cambios, como que el nuestro es chico, tiene patitas y la combinación de varios tipos de telas en lugar de hacerlo todo en fieltro.

Alvaro dibujo y cortó todas las piezas (yo sigo siendo una amenaza con la tijera) y yo lo cosí. Me gustó mucho como quedó la carita en forro polar.

Y a mi sobri le encantó!!!!!!...me cuenta mi hermana que lo lleva a todas partes y hasta duerme con él!

Little by little I´m learning to use my sewing machine. this time I took a chance making this baby werewolf for my little nephew (2 years already!!)

I saw THIS PIC on Pinterest y fell in love right away. We make some changes to it, like changing it to a boy wolf, adding feet and mixing different fabrics.

Alvaro drew it and cut out the pieces (since I´m terrible with scissors) and I sewed it all together. I loved using fleece for the face.

And the best part: my nephew loved it!. My sisters tells he goes everywhere with it and even sleeps with it!. I´m a happy aunt! :)
