¡y llegó la primavera! / Spring is here!

Hacía bastante frío...pero eso no nos impidió a las chicas de Lana Connection celebrar la primavera y el día del libro regalando flores (de ganchillo, ¡obviamente!). Además las compis de Pamplona, Burgos, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Alicante, Castellón y Valencia hicieron lo mismo.

It was very cold...but we still manage to celebrate spring giving away crochet flowers!!!...with my friends from Lana Connection we put up this "vertical yard". It was a join action with our friends from Pamplona, Burgos, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Alicante, Castellón and Valencia.

Es la primera acción conjunta que hacemos con otros grupos de yarn bombing...me la pasé genial todo el día viendo como cada grupo hacía su acción, compartiendo sus fotos y felicitándolas... y cuando porfin llegó la hora de Madrid estaba emocionadísima!!!...parecía año nuevo! jijijijji

It was the first time we did a yarn bomb at the same time with other groups from Spain and it was sooo exciting!!!...I spend the day waiting for their pictures and impressions and congratulating them...and when it was finally our time to do ours I was sooo happy!...it felt like it was new year´s eve!

Asi quedó nuestro jardín vertical, la gente se iba feliz con su ganchi-flor (parecido a lo que hicimos el día de San Valentin)...los que podían nos la cambiaban por un libro. Acumulamos bastantes libros que donaremos a alguna biblioteca.

So this is how our "vertical yard" turned out, pretty colourful isn´t it?. The idea was that everybody  that passed by could get a crocheted flower (like we did with the hearts in San Valentine ´s). Some people trade their books for flowers so we ended up with a bunch of books that we are donating to a library.

Siempre al final de las acciones terminamos agotadas, con una sonrisa que no nos cabe en la cara y haciéndonos la misma pregunta una a otra: ¿Para cuando la próxima? ;)

We always end our actions pretty tired but with a huge smile on our faces and asking each other the same question: when are we doing the next one? ;)

¡Agua que me quemo!/ Water!

Hace meses que empecé a trabajar en este yarn bombing…me he tardado mucho mas de lo que pensaba y todavía no estuviese lista si Alvaro no se hubiese iniciado en el “arte de los grannys”. Pero finalmente aquí está! Con sus gotitas de agua y todo…

I´ve been working in this yarn bomb for a few months now… It took me much longer than I thought…I still would be working on it if Alvaro wouldn’t have learned to crochet granny squares…but it´s finally here! With it’s water drops and everything!

 Un día, cuando estábamos tomando las medidas, una vecina del barrio nos contó un montón de historias sobre la fuente…nos dijo que el agua de la fuente solía ser buenísima, que hasta le atribuían “super-poderes” que aumentaban la virilidad (¿¿¿que pensarían estos “machos” al verla forrada de ganchillo???). 

 También nos comentó que existía un dicho  hace muchos años que decía algo asi: “para ser madrileño verdadero tienes que haber tomado agua en pocillo roñoso y con agujeros de la fuente de agua de la Plaza de Cabestreros”

 Como siempre, nos quedamos un rato viendo la reacción de la gente al verla…pero esta vez me llamó la atención que la mayoría ni la veía…¿será que aún era muy temprano y estaban dormidos???...espero que con las horas se despierten las sonrisas…

As usual we stayed a little while to see people’s reaction to it…but this time most people didn’t even look at it…maybe it was too early????...I hope that in a couple of hours the smiles will wake up…

Abril: taller de iniciación al ganchillo

Los viernes 13,20 y 27 abril daré el taller de "Iniciación al ganchillo" en Tete Café Costura. Aprenderemos los puntos básicos y empezaremos con los amigurumis y los granny square. Aún hay plazas, si estas interesad@ pincha AQUI.

Reina del Desorden / Queen of Mess

Yo podría ser conocida mundialmente como la "Reina del desorden"...estoy segura que cumplo con todos los requisitos para llevar el título con honor. Pero de vez en cuando me dan arranques que me llevan a renegar de mi título. Como esta mañana, en lugar de doblar toooodaaa la ropa que hay fuera del armario, recoger tooodaaass las lanas que hay sobre el sofá o simpelmente limpiar un poco, decidí que era urgentiisiimo organizar mis botones!

I´m sure I could be known worldwide as "Queen of Mess". But sometimes I just feel like noy having that title. Like this morning, instead of putting away allll the clothes that are outside the closet, or pick up alllll the yarn that´s sitting on the sofa...or just clean around a bit...I decided I HAD to organize my buttons...

 Supongo que esta "genial idea" (o similar)  la habré visto por el Pinterest...forré las tapitas de estos frasquitos...et voilà!!!...botones organizados!!!...aunque creo que necesitaré unos 2 o 3 frasquitos más...

I guess I saw this "amazing idea" (or something similar) on Pinterest...I covered up the top of this jars...et voilà!!!...buttons were organized!!!!...eventhough I think I´ll be needing 2 or 3 more jars.

 El asunto es...una vez forrados mis frasquitos...¿donde ponerlos en medio de tanto desorden???...I´ll always be Queen of Mess...

The thing is...once I had my cute-buttons-jars...where could I put them in the middle of this mess????...I´ll always be Queen of Mess...

Poncho pitillo/ Slim poncho

Antes de que se termine de ir el frio aqui les dejo mi "poncho pitillo". No seguí ningún patrón...hice la franja negra hasta que me daba la vuelta en punto bajo elástico, uní los extremos y luego tejí en círculos la parte de arriba, reduciendo al ojo, una vuelta, una prueba...hasta que se me terminó la lana! jijijjii

Before the cold weather is completly over and want to show you my "slim poncho" . I didný follow any pattern I just work the black part in single crochet using only back loop until I could wrap myself with it, then a sew the ends and start crocheting in circles, decreasing rounds and trying it on until I ran out of yarn! jijijij

La parte de arriba está hecha con Katia Inca (53% lana/47% acrílica) (4 euros/100g), calentita, suave y no pica nada

For the upper part I used Katia Inca (53% wool/47% acrylic) (4 euros/100g), soft and warm!

La parte negra es acrílico...con historia: originalmente fue una bufanda de punto...la hice hace como 3 años y nunca me gustó mucho. Así que decidí deshacerla y aprovechar el hilo para otra cosa...

The black part is acrylic...and it has history: originally I knitted a scarf with it, about 3 years ago and never really like it, so I decided to rip it and give the yarn a better use...

 Un día vimos en la filmoteca "Viridiana" de Buñuel y no sé porque me antojé de hacer algo como esto...asi que probé este patrón de LionBrand...

One day we went to the movies and saw "Viridiana" and I don´t know why I felt in love with this capelet...so I tried this pattern from LionBrand...

pero no tuve suerte...salió algo muy raro, raro, raro...asi que...a deshacer otra vez...

but...it turn out ver very  weired...so I rip it gain...rip it, rip it, rip it...

y fue cuando comencé este poncho freestyle que al final me ha gustado bastante... creo que me haré otro en colores mas vivos! ;)

and so I start this "free style" poncho/capelet...and I like it! (at least for now!)...I think I´ll make another one in brighter colors! ;)

Ganchillando a Caracas y vuelta / Crocheting my way to Caracas and back

Mi mamá ha tenido un accidente doméstico, nada grave pero si necesiat un poco de ayuda. Así que voy saliendo a Caracas a ayudarla/acompañarla/mimarla. Veamos el vaso medio lleno: no es nada grave y como no creo que salgamos mucho de casa tendré muchooo tiempo para ganchillar (nunca mejor dicho: "¿a donde vamos a ir con esa pata hinchada?"). Asi que en lugar de ropa mi maleta va llenita de lanas.

My mom had a domestic accident, nothing serious but yet uncomrftable. So I´m on my to Caracas to take care/spoil her for a few days. So, let´s look to the glass half full: isn´t a serouis injury and I´ll be spending a lot of time at home soooo...I can crochet a lot!...my suitcase has mora yarn than clothes.

Si quieren saber como se me da el ganchillo al ritmo de las guacharacas y los sapitos y con sabor a cachito y queso telita pasen por este post a ver como va la cosa...igual y hasta me animo a hacer mi primer yarn bombing caraqueño! (¿algún ayudante voluntario en la sala?)... ;)

Me voy corriendo al aereopuerto!

No falla...mi fiel amigo "jet lag" esta aqui conmigo en el sofá oyendo los pajaritos. Por lo menos esta vez  nos podemos divertir un poco más actualizando el blog..y ganchillando claro!...aqui va una muestra de lo que tejí en el vuelo de ayer (casi 10 horas!!!)...la verdad...pensé que iba a vanzar más...

On time, my loyal friend "jet lag" it´s sitting with me in the couch...listening to the birds...at least this time we are having fun updating the blog..and crocheting!!!....here are some pics from my crocheting in the plane yesterday (almost 10 hours!!=...I thought I was going to do more...

He estado comiendo muchos de  mis antojos venezolanos y disfrutando de la gente que ha venido a vernos...asi que he ganchillado muy poquito...será que al final las lanas no se van a mover del fondo de la maleta??? jijijiji

I´ve been eating a lot of venezuelan goodies and enjoying the people that has come to visit us...sooo...I´ve crocheted very little...you think all that the yarn is going to stay at the bottom of the suitcase?

 Además me he secuestrado un libro de mi  mamá (como siempre)..."El cuaderno de Maya" el último de Isabel Allende, que me tiene bastante atrapada...otra cosa que me ha mantenido lejos del ganchillo.

And also I´m hooked to Isabel Allende´s last book...another reason I´vebeen away from the hook! ;)

He estado tejiendo un poco mas...pero sigo enganchada al libro...sigo comiendo antojitos olvidados...sigo con jetlag...el cielo sigue nublado y yo sigo sin ver El Avila desde el balcón...

I´ve been crocheting a little bit more...but I´m still hooked to the book...I´m still eating forgotten goodies...I still have jetlag...the sky is still full of clouds...and I haven´t seen EL Avila from our window yet...

Poco...he ganchillado poco...a ver como se me da el fin de semana...estos granny parecen de chocolate, no creen? ;)

De vuelta en casita...muchas lanas ni salieron de la maleta...en el vuelo de vuelta sólo pude hacer 4 flores (me venció el sueño)...y antes del avión ...una arepa y jugo de melón de despedida en el aereopuerto! ;)...en fin  que no estoy segura de que funcione mucho esto de viaje+ganchillo...seguiré probando... ;)

I´m back home!...most yarn didn´t make it out of the suitcase in the whole trip...on my way back I only crocheted this 4 flowers...and before that, in the airport, I had an "arepa+melon juice" goodbye! ... ;)...I´m not quite sure this travel+crochet thing works...but I´ll keep trying! ;)
