Bombardeando cuellos / Cowls&Loom

Creo que los cuellos son lo más sencillo y básico que se puede hacer con los telares circulares (loom knitting). Todos estos están hechos con el punto “e-wrap” (lo siento todo lo que he leído de los telares está en inglés y no sé como se le dirá en castellano).En fin, que solo les puedo decir que tengan muuuchooo cuidado porque son un vicio…tanto que me he lastimado la muñeca de tanto darle al telarcito…pero ya voy mejorando…pronto volveré a ellos…

I think cowls are the simplest thing you can make with loom knitting. All of these are made using the “e-wrap stitch”. I must warn you: thay are verryyyy addictive!...is so easy to make them that you just can stop…I even hurt my wrist from sooo much loom knitting…it is almost ok now…soon all be back to the loom!

Primero hice el de Noemí,

Luego este para Alvaro de Navidad…

Then I made this black and red for Alvaro…

pero a las semanas lo perdió…asi que tuve que hacerle otro…

But he lost it so had to meke him another one…

Luego uno blanquito para mi (¡con pompones gigantes incluídos!…y cuando lo estaba acabando una mujer con ojo de pez lo vió y me pidió que le hiciera uno…y es bien sabido que uno no puede negarse a estas cosas…

Then an all-white for me (with huge pompoms!)…and when I was about ti finish it my friend Susana ask me to knit one for her…I you…you can never say no to this things…

no…¡es broma!...esto fue haciendo un bolardo…da la casualidad que el telar pequeño es justo del tamaño de mis bolardos…si del cielo te caen limones…

no….just kidding…this was actually a bollard…a happy coincidence: the small loom is just the size of the bollards on my street… 

Mochi rebelde / Rebel mochi

Cuando vi los mochimochi que estaban haciendo unas amigas me enamoré. Cuando los toqué caí rendida a sus pies. Los muñecos tejidos en punto me parecen mucho mas suaves, mas abrazables, mas achuchables que los amigurumis. Me encantan los amigurumis pero quería probar con los mochimochi. El problema: ¡me aburren supremamente las 2 agujas!...y ni que decir si son mas de dos como en caso de estos bichejos.

When I saw some friends knitting mochimochi dolls I fell in love with them. When I touched them I was head over feet. I think knitted dolls are much more soft and “huggable” than amigurumis. Don´t get me wrong I love amigurumis but I wanted to try with knitted toys. The problem was… I get sooo bored with knitting needles I couldn´t bring myself to make one.

Decidí que lo iba  hacer usando los telares circulares, así obtendría la misma textura del punto sin tener que darle a las agujas…¡y creo que funcionó!...por lo menos yo lo veo bonito y achuchable…Tiene otra trampa…las extremidades son de ganchillo…no lo puedo evitar…¡soy ganchillera a muerte! (o como diríamos en Venezuela, “la cabra tira pa´l monte…jejeje)

So I decided I was going to give it a try using a round loom, that way I´ll get the same texture without touching the needles!...and I think it worked! Or at least I think it looks cute and huggable. It has another trick: all the limbs are crochet. I can help it! I absolutely LOVE crochet! ;)

 Asi pues les presento esta especie de “mochimochi ornitorrinco” o “mochimochi híbrido” o “mochimochi rebelde” como prefieran…me ha gustado mucho hacerlo y el resultado también…

So is kind of a “platypus mochimochi”, “hybrid mochichi” or “rebel mochimochi” whatever you wish to call it…but I think it does the trick! ;)

Veo en el futuro navideño de mis sobrinos un par de estos bichejos…. ;)

Como lo hice:

Los hilos son “Red heart super saver”, tanto el multicolor como el morado.

Los ojitos son safety eyes de 12mm

40 vueltas en “knit stitch” (¿unto derecho?)  en el “knifty knitter round loom” de 5-1/2 pulgadas (osea el telar pequeño de ESTE kit)

Para las orejitas y patitas seguí los de ESTE patrón

Los bracitos me los inventé…pero creo que simplemente hice una vuelta de 6 pb, aumenté a 12 pb y luego unas 5 vueltas manteniendo. Todo con ganchillo de 4mm.

How a make it:

(can´t call it a mochimochi pattern…but it works)

Yarn: “red heart super saver” (both of them, purple and multicoulored)

Eyes: 12mm safety eyes.

40 rounds in knit stitch using 5-1/2 inch. knifty knitter round loom.

For ears and legs I used the ones in THIS pattern

The arms are just magic ring+6 sc, increase to 12 sc and then 5 rounds keeping it in 12 sts. (all with a 4mm hook).
