Una bufanda para dos / A scarf for two

Hace un par de meses que compré dos Katia Suyana (45% acrilico/35% Lana/20% Alpaca) en un gris clarito. Estaba muy ilusionada pensando que podía hacerle unas mangas a una camiseta...pero la idea resultó fatal...así que tocó deshacer...

A couple of months ago I bought 2 Katia Suyana (45% acrylic/35% wool/ 20% Alpaca) in a light grey. I was sure I could make some sleeves to upcycle an old shirt…it turned out to be a very bad idea…so…rip it, rip it, rip it…it was frogging time…

 El segundo intento fue hacer este cuello, pero claro entre que no domino mucho el tricot y que pasé de hacer la muestra, al acabarlo resultó que no me entraba...así que tocó deshacer...de nuevo…

Second try was to make this collar…but since I´m not a very good knitter and that I didn’t do the gauge, it turn out to be too small… so…rip it, rip it, rip it…it was frogging time…again

A la tercera va la vencida y decidí irme por algo facilito: un cuello/bufanda muy ancho para no tener problemas de talla. Fue solo hacer una cadeneta base de 77 puntos y luego vueltas en punto medio alto por detrás del punto (para que quedara un poco elástico) hasta que se me terminó la lana! (con un ganchillo de 5mm)

Third time´s the charm (and just in case) I settled for a very easy crochet project: a cowl. I made a 77 stitches chain and just worked my way making half double crochet in back loops only until I run out off yarn! (with a 5mm hook)

En lo que se lo mostré a Alvaro se lo puso y desde entonces tenemos que pedir turnos para usarlo!. Quiero hacer otro con la misma lana pero en otro color (tal vez, rojo?) y haciendo las líneas en vertical en vez de horizontal.

As soon as I showed it to Alvaro he putted it on and since then we have to take turns to used it!. I want to make another one (maybe in red…?) but this time I´ll like to work vertically instead of horizontally.

o será una bufanda para 3?
or should I say a scarf for 3?

Hace mucho tiempo / Long time ago (I)

Antes de "engancharme al ganchillo" mi primer intento con las lanas fue con el tricot... hace unos 5 años ya (!!!!!). Ya no me acuerdo que tipo de lana utilicé para cada una.

Before I got "hooked to the hook" I tried knitting first...almost 5 years ago (!!!!!!). I don´t remeber what kind of yarn I used.

 Al lograr montar los puntos me lancé con mi primera bufanda haciendo sólo puntos al derecho. Pueden ver como los primeros 20-30 cm tienen los bordes disparejos y ya luego se nota que fui entiendo mejor el asunto. Luego hice la verde para Alvaro, también solo en punto bobo (derecho), las dos con agujas #7. Repetí con la morada para mi (esta la hice más fina pero mucho mas larga con la idea de poder darle unas 4 vueltas) y mi último intento fue la azul (para Alvaro) en la que me aventuré a hacer punto jersey (1 derecho/ 1 revés).

After I managed to cast-on some stitches a started my first scarf by doing only knitting stitches. You can see how the first part of it has funny edges but after a while I got some straight edges. Then I did the green one for Alvaro, again with just knit stitches and again with the purple one (for me), this one is thinner but longer with the intention of using it with at least 4 rounds. And my last attempt was the blue one in wich I tried knit-1-round/ purl-1-round.

La verdad es que el tricot no logró enamorarme como lo ha hecho el ganchillo. Aunque últimamente, a medida que hago más cosas en crochet se me ha despertado la curiosidad por alternar con el tricot. Además estoy leyendo "Stitch ´n bitch: the knitter´s handbook" de Debbie Stoller en el que viene todo muy bien explicado y la verdad me apetece darle otra oportunidad.
Lupe al parecer no tiene preferencias entre el tricot y el ganchillo! ;)

Truth is knitting doesn´t makes the trick for me like crochet. Although, the more I crochet I´m starting to get a bit knit-curious. Besides I´m reading "Stitch ´n bitch: the knitter´s handbook" by Debbie Stoller and it´s been so great I might give it another try!. 

Lupe doesn´t care if it is crochet or knitting...she just love the yarn stuff! ;)
